Seems Microsoft is downgrading driver so it can still function somewhat with windows 10. I found that Nvidia moved my old card to legacy, and no longer supports. Hoping for someone smarter than I, can puts some answers on this subject, This is the first of a lot of searching that I have found resembles somewhat I'm experiencing. I am leaning to a Microsoft problem, but I figured I would find more of what I am experiencing. I have a 1000 watt power supply I just installed with no help.

I have also noticed Microsoft has been updating windows 10 ever few days this September, a little odd even for Microsoft, 6 cumulative updates and counting. I bought these video cards on eBay just recently, and attempting to understand Ive never had to roll back Nvidia drivers on my system as of yet. If it breaks something then roll back to the version before the most recent. Like I stated, I have tired all drivers on NVIDIA site, with only 388.13 working. I assume that as you are using a laptop, you don't have another card installed but it may be caused by your on-board graphics - try disabling in BIOS.
